Illustrations

Wildflower illustrations are an important part of my research for my nature writing. Line drawings particularly can help to decipher the delicate structures of plants and can often demonstrate small differences more clearly than photographs. Observational drawing is also a great way to enjoy and appreciate plants and the exquisite detail of their flowers, leaves, and seeds.

The research for my Once Upon A Wildflower series of books included drawings for many of the featured plants.
